Kundalini meditation, also known as Kundalini Yoga, is a strong spiritual practise that tries to awaken the dormant force known as Kundalini that is located within the human body. Kundalini meditation is also sometimes referred to as Kundalini pranayama. The name "Kundalini" refers to the vital life force energy that is said to live at the base of the spine. This vital life force energy is sometimes portrayed as a coiled serpent.
A combination of physical postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama), mantra chanting, meditation, and sometimes specific hand gestures (mudras) are involved in the practise of Kundalini meditation. Its goal is to bring about spiritual awakening and higher states of consciousness by stimulating and energising the Kundalini energy, which will then permit it to travel through the subtle energy pathways (nadis) and energy centres (chakras) of the body.
Kundalini meditation is practised with the intention of clearing one's emotional patterns, releasing any energy blocks one may be carrying, and awakening one's real potential. It is frequently said to as a transforming and holistic practise that brings together an individual's physical, mental, and spiritual elements.
Practitioners of Kundalini meditation may participate in dynamic movements and postures along with rhythmic breathing patterns during a session of meditation in order to promote the flow of Kundalini energy. The practise also includes the recitation of particular mantras and the repetition of sacred sounds, both of which help to concentrate the practitioner's attention, boost vibrations, and make it easier for them to make energy adjustments.

It is thought that as the Kundalini energy rises through the centre energy channel (sushumna), it cleanses and balances the entire system.
